I'd give this school no star's of it was possible. 3 of my kid's attended this school & more than 4 time's my 2 boy's were denied breakfast in the morning after they got off the bus because the caff was full of children who weren't eating but playing on their phones or whatever. If you have teens then you know how difficult it is to get them up early enough to eat before the bus comes & some children only get the food from school to eat. So it's complete BS that hungry children are being turned away from getting any food & being sent to class hungry. No one can think or sometimes function in class on assignment's or anything when they're tummy's making noises so all they think about is food. I went into the school to talk with the terrible principal about my boy's being denied breakfast & he would tell me that it wouldn't happen again which was a complete lie being it happened over & over so he fixed nothing. He told my boy's that next time it happened to tell the teacher they were hungry & wanted something to eat but that didn't matter to this POS lunch room teacher. I finally told them that if they were denied breakfast again to call me or tell her "nicely" that she isn't allowed to deny them food & they have a right to eat just as much as the next kid & that they'd even take it outside but by law she can not deny them anymore. This is a major problem with Avalon Middle which they won't fix. Also my son had really bad bronchitis & on the verge of getting worse. I was told he could make up 2 finals he missed since he had a doctor's note but they lied about that too & failed him because of it. He even went to summer school to make it up but they don't help your kid's with much & they failed almost the whole summer school class over a 59% instead of a 60% they wouldn't accept the 59% or bump it up being 90% of the class got the same grade. He wouldn't even had been there if they'd let him make up his test's which were not all computerized like summer school was. Also if you had to go back to a previous section you weren't allowed to because the computer blocked you or prevented you from going over that part of the lesson before the final test. All I ever got from this school was lie after lie after lie mainly from Dr blue who's there to help kid's not lie to your face & then do nothing to help you or your child. This school is a joke & I'm very happy that we moved from FL because I'll be damned if any of my kid's are attending this school ever again! I don't recommend this school to anyone unless you don't care what happens with your kid.

I have to agree with the other parent. My 2 children get off the bus in the morning and go to the cafeteria for breakfast only to be told but the cafeteria is full go away. As a parent do not agree with this because my kids get to the school in time to eat breakfast but are turned away and then are told it's too late. As the other parents stated their kids and they're playing on their phones doing nothing chatting whatever. While there are kids other than mine who are told they're not allowed to eat breakfast because the cafeteria is full. This is my first year at Avalon Middle we have transferred from a different Middle School the middle school we were at we were told you don't want your child going there it's an awful School. And oh you're going to Avalon it's an awesome School. Well I for one who has been to both as a parent and my children as students can tell you we would rather have the awful School because my feelings on Avalon are they feel like they are better than every other school it's more like a stuck up Country Club and any problems you have are quietly shoved under the rug with hopes that you will just disappear so you don't cause any problems in their little pond. In the meantime your children my children are not being taught properly and are being turned away from breakfast and don't even get me started on what happens during lunch my kids come home starving to death. I honestly think this school feels like that they are so much better than every other Middle School in the area that when you complain about something or ask to have something changed they feel so Superior that how dare you even question their process and procedures.
I liked the school alright, but I I didn't like all the teachers that I had.
